Chess Cake

Well, you asked for it, you got it...calories from hell. Enjoy!

CHESS CAKE

Don't ask. I have no idea where the name came from. I'm thinking it's a corruption of "cheese cake", but who knows? (If you do, please let me know.)

Mix:

  • 1 box of yellow cake mix
  • 1 egg
  • 1 stick of oleo or butter, melted
and pat in bottom of a 9" x 13" pan. This is fun, and the texture of the crust is almost Play-Doh-y.

Now mix:

  • 1 box powdered sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 8 oz. package of cream cheese
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
and pour over the other mixture in the pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes, or until firm and lightly browned.

I recommend chilling it before eating, and do refrigerate it. You should have a firm brownie-like crust on the bottom and a chewy, creamy, supersweet filling on top.

I apologize for the vaguenesses, etc. above...I'm no gourmet cook. I just know how to make this right. :)

Yes. It's very, very fattening. Almost obscenely so. It's also absolutely guaranteed to make you friends and have people begging you to make it.

Frightening.
